Oshawa Second Marsh
Blog Posts Last update: February 17th, 2012 This page is to chronicle photographically a year in the life of Second Marsh. It's not a scientific approach nor a particularly methodical one. I've become very interested in the marsh personally and have made it a project for myself. Rather than organize my images by subject, I've chosen to organize them by time, the idea being to show how things in the marsh change through the seasons. I have many images of the wildflowers in the marsh, some of the insects and wildlife that I was lucky enough to photograph and some general shots of the marsh as well. I hope to keep going there for at least a year, and maybe longer. So far, it's been about 10 months. It's pretty easy to capture images of wildflowers but wildlife is quite another matter. It's all about being in the right place at the right time. So what I capture is of course only representative of some of the wildlife you might see in the marsh. There are many more species there than the few I have images of. I also have a photo blog where I post images from the marsh (amongst other places) but I thought I'd place links to my blog that pertain to the marsh in one place, for my own use and for anyone else that might be interested. Without their considerable knowledge of botany I would not have been able to identify many of the species that I posted on the blog.
