Algonquin Park and Area
Algonquin's many lakes and trails and rolling hills quickly soothe the soul. For the more adventurous,
most of the park is truly wild, accessible only by canoe or hiking trails. But even on the highway
corridor putting out in a canoe on one of the many lakes is a joy.
Arrowhead Provincial Park is only about 30 miles from Algonquin Park so they share very similar
flora and fauna.
Two of the towns in the area (Huntsville and Dorset) offer their own special views of the Canadian
Shield and most visitors to Algonquin or Arrowhead Parks spend some pleasant time poking around one
or both of them.
